This immersive exhibition presents the emblematic works of Cézanne, a self-taught painter who produced 900 canvases and 400 watercolours. It retraces his eclectic career, highlighting his portraits, still lifes, landscapes and historical scenes.
Visitors will discover Cézanne’s artistic development, from an early period inspired by Delacroix and Courbet, to a period influenced by Impressionism, which he gradually abandoned. His canvases are meticulously animated to pay tribute to his unique approach to shapes and colours, and to his inclination towards abstraction, which would greatly influence the cubists, the fauvists and the avant-gardists.
This immersive exhibition takes visitors to the heart of Cézanne’s works, to discover his light, his colours and his link with his favourite model: nature.
